XX Teens Will Flip Your Switch
Just got some interesting, rowdy music that came through to our email this morning. Not really sure how to describe it because it is all over the place, but maintains a punk kind of sound. I think I hear a lot of steel drums banging around with some shoutin’ vocals that have a touch of Isaac Brock mixed in with some Casablanca’s style talk/singing. The massive bass line drives the whole thing as touches of horn come in and out. It really kind of makes you want to throw things around, in a good destructive way.
The band is XX Teens (i know, bad name but it grows on you) out of London. They have already put out 6 EP’s and have their debut album “Welcome To Goon Island” coming out through Mute on September 30, 2008.
