Quarterlifeparty

I’ve posted about Thing One,  band out of New Jersey in a recent On Rotation after hearing the dancey “Move It” from their forthcoming EP. Now that I’ve had a chance to listen to the entire thing I can say it has a lot of potential.  Some of the songs have a similar dance-rock feel as the previously mentioned song, but others move in a different direction. Although a bit dramatic, the song “The Kid with The Pointy Shoes” is an excellent song, beginning with vocals that sound like something off of a Pink Floyd album. Although a few seconds in this changes as the beat comes in and the build up is very nice.  The most recent single “The Thief” sounds a little more ska’ish mixed with a 90’s rock sensibility with it’s jaunty up-swinging guitar line.
