The Year of Yorn

I was a little surprised recently when I went to put on Pete Yorn’s latest Back & Forth… it’s not that I haven’t listened to Pete Yorn in the past, but I just never realized how good his music was until now. The big fans are saying this is a good album, but not his best. But most people who are fans love the older albums better than the new (damn you old-album-lovers). I can say that this album is great, and it’s what is going to make me go back and listen to all his past albums.
This year Yorn is recording a lot of material. You could say he is the Joseph Arthur of 2008 or maybe the Ryan Adams of 2005 years ago when it comes to this kind of singer-songwriter music. He is set to release another record with Scarlett Johanson this year (lucky guy, just look at the cover, I think I would have drool coming down my face if I was in that position… py to sj: “hey scarlett.. i wrote a song for you.. it’s called ‘let’s do it.. right now’ “).
On top of this Yorn has another album coming out consisting of six songs recorded with Frank Black (no release date yet). So go back and listen to Music for the Morning After and prep yourself for the Year of Yorn.
