In other news – Dolores O’Riordan (former Cranberries lead singer) will be releasing a solo album and touring this summer – she’ll be at the 9:30 club July 12th. Check here for additional dates.

Lollapalooza line-up comes out tomorrow. Pitchfork has a line-up on their website – don’t know if it’s all accurate, semi-accurate – whatever it is – it looks pretty awesome. That’s all I have to say about that.

So I’ve (Marisa) been slacking off in regards to updates and reviews. I started a new job a month ago and I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had the time to write a review. So right now I’ll try to sum up the shows I saw this past month in a few words. Ok, here we go:
I caught Glen Phillips at Jammin’ Java, really good show. Great crowd interaction/story-telling + incredible voice + acoustic guitar skills = one enjoyable show. Check him out sometime. Bright Eyes @ 9:30- I thought it was a tight show and I liked a lot of the new material (Cassadega). Conor was looking a bit scruffy/scraggly but hey whatever. You know it’s a good show when you don’t know many of the songs and you still have a great time. Click here for an interesting NPR article and various downloads and streams. Caught Butch Walker again at 9:30 club – this man is rock and roll. He sings and plays with all his might – and the entertainment factor is way high with him. Yeah, there may be a ton of chicks there, but it’s all in good fun. Ted Leo at 9:30 club was freakin’ awesome. You can go to NPR to download the show. I highly recommend. They certainly did not disappoint that night and the new songs sound AWESOME live. Yeah, I heart Ted Leo and his Pharmacists. And finally Jimmie’s Chicken Shack at Iota Club – Yup, Jimmie is still around. Shows at Iota are just great – and this one was really fun. Whew. So now I’m all caught up to speed. I have Junior Boys, Aqueduct, and Youth Group to look forward to this Friday!
