New TV on the Radio: “Dancing Choose”

Thanks for GvB for the heads up on the stream of TV on the Radio’s new song “Dancing Choose”.  When i first heard it i thought “haha…nice joke….no way this is TVOTR”, then i guickly realized it actually was the band.  I am not sure what i think of it.  First impression:  don’t like this direction at all, but i will wait till i hear the whole album.  I first thought it sounded like a more indie version of “We didn’t start the fire”, but then after re-reading GvB’s post on Rollingstone calling it their answer to REM’s “It’s the end of the world as we know it”, i can totally hear that.

Stream it here, and be prepared for something different than you expect.  Gotta give TVOTR credit for always achieving that.

New TV On The Radio “Golden Age”

We posted the cover art for Dear Science a few weeks ago, now there is a song and website available. Head over to tvontheradio.com to listen to the new song.  It’s pretty funky, the bass sounds like something from Michael Jackson’s thriller album and there is a much cleaner sound. I don’t hear much guitar on the track and it sounds pretty electronic. It’s definitely catchy, but if I were to give my first impression it would be a negative one, this sounds like a normal song… and I’m used to TV on the Radio showing something different. Will have to listen a few more times and hear the rest of the album before I make any more judgement.

TV On The Radio Dear Science Rundown

TV On The Radio are set to release their much anticipated 3rd album Dear Science on September 26th and Drowned in Sound has a good rundown of each song on the album. According to those who got a first listen, the album has some funky bass lines on it, but still filtered through the usual TVOTR dark soundscapes and fuzz. It kind of sucks to have to read what an album sounds like, but don;t worry I’m sure if someone was able to listen to it then it will be leaking online shortly.
