I was a pretty big fan of Margot and The Nuclear So & So’s debut album The Dust of Retreat, so it was disappointing when their second album seemed to have suffered from all of the label BS that went on during that release. There ended up being two albums released (Animal! and Not Animal) and it became pretty confusing. Whatever happened, neither version of the album were very memorable.
Seems like all that is behind them now, as they are preparing to release their 3rd album Buzzard via their own label Mariel Recordings. Hopefully the new label along with a recent relocation to chicago will make for a nice rebound musically. The album comes out Sept. 21st during which they will set out on an extensive tour, including a stop in DC at The Black Cat on October 1st.
