Our #1 album of last year now has a new video out for “We Own The Sky”. It follows in a similar fashion as Radioheads “House Of Cards” Video with the data visualization, 100 times better than the one you might see on windows media player (so trippy!). Does this not fit the song perfectly?

M83 and the killers both use synthesizers. After that the comparisons are pretty polar opposites. Given, the new M83 album is much more “accessible” than previous albums, but not like the new Killers album, who’s songs range in sound from indie to club to disco…pretty all over the place. Either way, good publicity for M83.

M83 and Pitchfork are having a contest for fans to make the video for M83’s “We Own the Sky”, which happens to be one of my favorite songs from this years great Saturdays=Youth. All you have to do is make the video, upload it HERE before january 20th and wait to see if you win. The winning video will premier on pitchfork.tv.

In related news, did anyone see m83 last night at the black cat? I couldn’t make it, but am sure it was great. If you missed them, be sure to check them out on the rest of their US dates (they play NYC tonight)…

There are a couple reasons why this is great:

1. It’s M83, so therefore i am automatically interested
2. Who knew John Norris was even around anymore. As far as i knew, if you weren’t on the cast of The Hills…you no longer were on the MTV pay roll.
3. John’s blonde dyed hair and striped hoodie make him look even more like a 90’s relic.
4. Who doesn’t like to listen to french people speak english?
