John Vanderslice re-mix and other tidbits
Well it certainly has been a while since I’ve posted anything – I am alive, just been working and schooling like a mad woman. Anyway, go to John Vanderslice’s website to download this remix of Pixel Revolt. I love that album and still listen to it fairly often – so it’s cool to hear how it’s remixed – it is mainly instrumental electronicky sounding. I’m digging the Dear Sarah Shu remix – the Trance Manual remix sounds like an 80′s love song and cracks me up.
Good ol’ John will be coming to the 9:30 Club at the end of this month, touring with Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks. I missed him last time at RnR Hotel, I don’t think I’ll be doing that this time!
I did catch the St. Vincent show at Bowery Ballroom this past Friday and let me just say – that show was awesome. The arrangements of the songs were an unexpected surprise for me and sounded so full of life – I was worried it was gonna be sleepytime music. Quite the contrary. She is very entertaining and she made these jerky moments that made her look like a wind up doll. I found this clip on youtube of Now, Now – which is the song she opened with.

Tilly & the Wall and Wussy later this month. More on them later.
