So this weekend in dc, apparently as part of a campaign for the KIA Soul, there will be various free shows from Dan Deacon, Ponytail, WALE, and MGMT.  All you have to do is test drive the soul and you get free tickets to MGMT.  It’s not clear on the website if you have to test drive for the other shows (that would seem pretty lame), or if you have to choose which show you wanna see.  Anyways, details below (it’s also in philly next weekend):

Friday: WALE (7:30PM)

Saturday: Dan Deacon, Ponytail (7PM)

Sunday: MGMT (8PM)

MGMT will be performing special shows for the tour, completely free and open to the 16-and-up public. The only way to obtain tickets to either show is by test-driving the Kia Soul at the Kia Collective space in each city Friday through Sunday from noon – 8pm (addresses to each location below).

Dan Deacon, The Black Dice and others will be playing Sonar this saturday night (6/13) and we have a pair of tickets to giveaway.  The winner will also receive a copy of Deacon’s new album Bromst when they show up to the show.

Dan Deacon is set to release his sophomore album Bromst on March 24th, you can hear the first single “get older” below.  The album art was photographed by baltimore’s own Frank Hamilton.  Sounds pretty good.  Still very much Dan Deacon, with his hyper-casio sound, but with added layers and dynamics.  I didn’t get into Spiderman of the Rings much, but I am looking forward to this one.
