Mini Wham City “Documentary”

For those living in baltimore (or even a lot outside) wham city isn’t as unknown as they used to be, but i still thought this short mini documentary of the baltimore art collective was worth posting, and gives a more insider look than a lot of people might have previously had.  Their whartscape this year was unsurprisingly amazing, and we look forward to whatever they have plans for in the future (whartcape or not).

Dan Deacon Remixes Salvadore Santana

Dan Deacon

I’m not too familiar with the work of Salvador Santana but this is a great remix Dan Deacon has pulled out, fuzzy as hell.

Originally, GZA was featured over a remix of the song “Keyboard City” done by The Hood Internet. Now, Dan Deacon took that remix and dissected it into this an awesome blend of Vocoder / electro madness.

WALE, Dan Deacon, Ponytail, MGMT playing Free Shows This Weekend in DC

mgmtsquare

So this weekend in dc, apparently as part of a campaign for the KIA Soul, there will be various free shows from Dan Deacon, Ponytail, WALE, and MGMT.  All you have to do is test drive the soul and you get free tickets to MGMT.  It’s not clear on the website if you have to test drive for the other shows (that would seem pretty lame), or if you have to choose which show you wanna see.  Anyways, details below (it’s also in philly next weekend):

Friday: WALE (7:30PM)

Saturday: Dan Deacon, Ponytail (7PM)

Sunday: MGMT (8PM)

MGMT will be performing special shows for the tour, completely free and open to the 16-and-up public. The only way to obtain tickets to either show is by test-driving the Kia Soul at the Kia Collective space in each city Friday through Sunday from noon – 8pm (addresses to each location below).

Dan Deacon Karmaloop Interview: planning whartscape, hates (not really) vampire weekend

Some funny gems in this interview, including hating on vampire weekends influences, then hating on the fact that he hated on vampire weekend, then planning whartscape, and other randomness:
