Shout Out Louds “Work”
Been listening to the new Shout Out Louds for the past couple days and it sounds really good. On first listen, not much stood out to me, it’s a very cohesive flat-running album. But after a few listens you realize exactly what The Shout Out Louds are about. They have truly defined their sound with this album, it somewhat 80’s/90’s -ish but unassuming, almost a similar feeling that I get when listening to a Built To Spill, Psychedelic Furs, or Nada Surf Album (I might even throw a little Morissey or Smiths in there). It’s not trying too hard, it’s just good music that is fun to listen to.
I think the song that really hit me and got me further into the album was “Fall Hard”, the second track on the album, but not till the 3rd listen. This is one of my favorite bands right now, I loved them on Howl Howl Gaff Gaff I wasn’t sure what direction they were going in after that, but I think I like it.
