New Whigs “In The Dark”
The Whigs are one of the most consistent bands I’ve seen in the past few years and have a great new song out “In The Dark”. I don’t know what it is about this band, they play rock songs like concise pop gems and when you see them live it’s pretty apparent they know exactly what they are doing. I think I’ve seen them 3 times now and it’s always a good show, and especially fun to see a bands parents at a show.
The song is over just as quick as it begins with some extremely catchy, fuzzy, gooeyness inbetween. It’s a little different from what you might have heard on Mission Control, a little bigger of a chorus, but they haven’t lost anything, just growing in the right direction. Pretty intense sound effects at the end, I could see this being a good show closer. The new album In The Dark will be out early 2010. Look for them on tour in the coming months.
