New Sinkane “Apache Beat”
We had covered Sinkane (Ahmed Gallab) a little bit in the past, hadn’t heard much about him in a while, and now he’s popping back up with a new album. Tour drummer for Caribou and Of Montreal, Sinkane’s own music has a psychedelic tinge but still is very accessible. The guitar line on this song is incredibly catchy, and it reminds me of something that I can’t put my finger on. You could probably compare Sinkane to a less muddled, more energetic Brightblack Morning Light and you can definitely hear some Caribou influence on this. Jazzy drum beats with layers of sound over top… count me in.
