Music Notes 10/20/09

It’s a good week in Baltimore for some Live music. Tonight the Dirty Projectors play the Ottobar and, I’m sad to say, I might miss it in lieu of checking out Where the Wild Things Are. I haven’t gotten into this band much but people seem to be loving the new album and I imagine it will be on a few end of year lists. Wednesday night brings Delorean and Deer Tick to Sonar, and Thursday Dr. Dog bring their beatlesque musings to the Ottobar.

Some good new music to listen to on Spinner listening party:
Phoenix “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Remixes”, Kings of Convenience “Declaration of Dependence”, New Moon SDTRK (although minus the Muse and Thome Yorke), Sufjan Stevens “BQE”, Leonard Cohen “Live at the Isle of Wight”, El Perro Del Mar, White Denim, Thao With The Get Down Stay Down, & More

Check out Wavves set on Daytrotter. Wavves (daytrotter) “To The Dregs Horse Sholes”

Listen to A Place To Bry Strangers “In Your Heart” off the new album “Exploding Head”.

Can’t say I enjoyed the first Dead Weather album as much as others, but they do have another album ready to put out. While your at it, check out the No Age videos of them performing at MOMA.

Every Artist Needs A Tragedy: No Age [Part 1 of 3] from Ray Concepcioñ on Vimeo.

Eels already have a new album coming out in January. Tracklist.

I still don’t understand Bob Dylan putting out a Christmas Album.
1) I hate Christmas Music (ba humbug)
2) Bob Dylan is like the anti-Santa Claus.
3) He should have made a Halloween album, noone ever makes Halloween albums.

Where did the Chemical Brothers Samples come from? Lookie here.

Monsters of Folk are on tour and playing a lot of eachother’s “other” music. (via Hidden Track)

Memory Tapes has a Halloween Mix out.
