Lady Sovereign: “I Got You Dancing” MP3, Video
Lady Sovereign recently released a new single, “I Got You Dancing”, from her upcoming sophomore album Jigsaw, which will be released on her own Midget Records label.
Unsurprisingly, this is some pretty catchy stuff. The chorus is pretty poppy, ala kanye auto-tuner, so be prepared for that.

Auto-tuner has become an effect of style. What is the difference now between an autotuner and a delay pedal, they both just effect the instrument. Sure, there are those pop singers who have used it to subtley correct their crappy voices, but now it’s just being used as a stylistic affect. No reason to be scared, this isn’t like bob dylan going electric. Oh wow, kanye can’t really sing, that’s so surprising!

I like the track all right. What’s more interesting to me is how she’s gone from “I can’t dance / and I really can’t sing” to this.
Also, The Warriors motif suits her fine, but whoever talked her into the haircut in the main pic on her page should be slapped around a bit. Looks a little suburban hairstylist-does-Avril. Just sayin’.
