Introducing Hifiklub: “Babe Doll”

Hifiklub is a musical project from the south of france. As member Regis Laugier says it “hifiklub is more than a trio, we always share our music (live and on the albums) with other muscians”. Their first album, French Accent, came out a couple months ago in france and was produced and mixed by David Bowie’s guitarist Earl Slick. They are already started on their next album, Volume 2, which is set to be produced by Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo.

Hifiklub – Babe Doll (MP3)

This song is off French Accent and is, put simply, a good, fun rock song. Reminds me of what The Libertines might sound like mixed with The Strokes. The song has a “who gives a shit” attitude with plenty of hooks. I’m not so sure about the rest of their tunes, but this song is a gem.

  1. Sounds like something you could have heard at The Mudd Club (NYC) in the late seventies, early eighties about the time Talking Heads played there.
