Ezra Furman & The Harpoons
Ezra Furman and the Harpoons released Banging Down the Doors in August of last year and by the end of the year received a lot of praise landing on the top ten lists of WXPN, All Music Guide & Time Out New York. This Boston band has been gaining steam touring early this year. They will be taking residency every Friday in February at NYC’s Annex and then continuing their tour up until SXSW.
This music has a lot of energy to it. It’s another nasally voice like that of David Byrne or CHSY that just works with the music and the desperate lyrical content. They also have been putting out some awkwardly down-to-earth and geeky video promotions like the ones below.
