Dennis Wilson, FizzGigs, and other Random Nonsense
My weekend was full of working, listening to the exceptional reissued Dennis Wilson album Pacific Ocean Blue, watching a guy almost die at the Dew Tour, watching a lesbian brawl walking home through the gay pride parade, and watching the Dark Crystal. pretty exciting.
So here we go:
Dennis Wilson Pacific Ocean Blue
Listening to this album for the first time, it’s epic, and I’m starting to think he might have been even more talented than Brian. How do you write a 33 song double album about loving the ocean without it getting boring.. this is how. It’s darker than any other Beach Boys material, musically that is (Brian Wilson lyrics can get pretty dark), and has all the classic rock trademarks. It’s funny because Dennis was excluded from the Beach Boys until their mom forced Brian to include him. Also, Dennis was the only real surfer in the band.
Dennis has a darker, rougher voice, and was not given singing roles in the band until later because he wasn’t “angelic” enough. Ironically, Dennis became the Beach Boys sex symbol and became more of the outcast of the group because of his divergent personal music style, as you can see on this album. He was also romantically involved with Christie Mcvie from Fleetwood Mac and had regular drinking binges with the band (although they even said he was a little too out there for them) and was friends with Charles Manson before his murder spree. He drowned at Marina Del Ray in 1983 at the age of 39.

Lesbian fight… can’t find any sfw media for this one. But I basically saw a brawl of about 15 girls as me and a few friends were attempting to get to Brewer’s art walking through mt vernon. One of which was getting dragged through the gravelly street as girls punched her on the ground. WTF? As we walked by we heard someone say “It’s always the lesbians”.
The Dew Tour…
I can’t find any info on this, not sure what happened, but at the end of the vert skateboarding finals, one of the competitors came down hard and didn;t get up for 20 minutes. They then carted him off saying he was raising a thumbs up… but nobody saw that. Overall the bmx street was pretty badass, the skateboarding was pretty week. This is the first time I went to one of these, so not sure where the Dew Tour stands in terms of important competitions, but it didn’t seem all that competitive.

It’s true, it’s always the Lesbians. It’s kind of like if you were to drink non-alcoholic beer and no one told you it was non-alcoholic beer you would probably start to feel drunk. These girls exxperience the same effect … but it’s testosterone.
