Coachella Artist: David Guetta
David Guetta is a DJ based out of France that has been working since the mid-80’s. In 2005 Guetta received 3 House Music awards for Best Live/DJ Set @ KissDaFunk , DJ Of the Year and Standout Event WMC – F*** Me I’m Famous @ Mansion.
Guetta is a house/trance DJ similar in sound to Paul Oakenfold. There isn’t anything new going on here as far as the music goes, it’s the typical house beat (oonce oonce oonce) with clean, almost generic, vocals, fade-out’s, cut-in’s etc.
UPDATE: Apparently, according to some people who have emailed me since this post, Guetta is not Oakenfoldy at all and bears more resemblance to Daft Punk. I haven’t seen him myself so I can’t really say for sure, but there is a buzz about a set he did at UMF.
