Bon Voyage: The Wire

Me,Brent, and many of our friends living in Baltimore, are (were) huge fans of The Wire; and although we all really enjoyed the finale, man does it leave a gaping void. Guess all good things must come to an end. So it is with a bittersweet tone that we say bon voyage for the not-so-optimistic HBO series filmed in and portraying our fair city.

I thought this Newsweek quote was pretty accurate:

“The Wire” was always a bit like a bad relationship. It required an inordinate amount of commitment and emotional investment. Some of our friends didn’t get it, and we thought less of them as a result. It broke our hearts over and over and we crawled back for more. But when it was good, whew … it was so good.

Also, back in September, The Washington Post came out with a great article covering the wrapping of the filming of the series. Check it out.
