I am really starting to be concerned about what they put in the water up there in Montreal. I mean, there seriously can’t be THAT many great bands coming out of one city without some sort of genetic oddity to consider.

Land of Talk is the latest band to bust out of the gates that is the Montreal music scene…and with a furry. Blend the sweet vocals of Metric’s Emily Haines with the rock vocals of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O and you might come close to the sound of lead singer Elizabeth Powell. Check out their debut album, Applause Cheer Boo Hiss.
