Alela Diane: Your Cure for Sunless Days

Recently i put up a little Fall Mix, and since we’re talking about music that fits with the current weather…allow me to put up the song “White as Diamonds” from Alela Diane, which fits perfectly for these days when the sun goes down at 4:30PM and you feel like someone teleported you to Iceland.

This song comes off her upcoming sophomore album , which comes out Feb. 19th on Rough Trade. It reminds me of the coldness of a irish funeral song mixed with the warm and comfortable voice of someone like Feist or Nick Drake. I can see myself driving home from work in the dark as she sings “i’ve known mornings white as diamonds, silent from a night so cold…such a stillness calm as the owl glides…our lives are buried in snow…our lives are buried in snow”. *shiver*

Pre-Order the Album HERE.
