Just started digin ginto the new John Maus We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves album and this is the song that stood out to me on first listen. The first few songs were a little tough for me to get through because they seemed too derivitive of Joy Division, but once you get deeper into the album you start to hear more of an 80′s synth influence.

Here is the first single off the upcoming Mates of State album Mountaintops (out sept. 13th). Per usual, some pretty catchy stuff here. Their tour includes a stop at the 9:30 club on 9/21 and a stop at Ottobar on 10/11.

Looks like the guys from pushplayrecord.com added another video of Future Islands set at 2640 Space, featuring a new track titled “Before The Bridge” that was released as a single last week, and the always great “Tin Man”.

Anthony Gonzalez, lead braniac behind M83, has been saying his upcoming new album will be going back to their “epic” type style of previous albums such as Before The Dawn Heals Us and Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts and this video gives a hint of that level of “circle of life” grandeur. Can. Not. Wait.
