Stream New Iron and Wine Album Kiss Each Other Clean

Looks like Team Coco is getting into the indie-webs and offering up album streams ala NPR style. Check out Iron and Wine’s upcoming album Kiss Each Other Clean (1/25) HERE. I am finding it hard to delineate one Iron and Wine album (song?) from another when i hear it, lately i’ve been finding myself thinking “wasn’t this on his last album?”. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but i know I am enjoying these tracks, so i am thinking it’s not the worst thing.

CEX: New Single, Video “Megamuse”

Baltimore’s own electronic wizard CEX is set to release a new album Tiny Creatures, and here is the first single off of said LP: “Megamuse”.  It’s a glitched out, redundant-in-a-way-that-gets-in-your-head track that’s a mix between electronic and psychedelic.  The more i listen to it the more it crawls under my skin and gets comfy.

Cex – Megamuse from tigerbeat6 on Vimeo.

The single comes out january 25th, and includes various remixes, and the full LP is to follow sometime later this year. Above is the video edit, for the full 7 minute opus, check out the soundcloud stream below.

Coachella Lineup Announced

Sadly, my streak of 7 straight coachella festival attendances will be snapped this year (for good reason: a friends wedding), but it’s still worth  noting this years lineup is out today.  Nothing monumental here in terms of reunions, but a solid group in the non-headliner fine print.  If anyone goes, let us know how it is…

Stream Destroyer’s Excellent New Album ‘Kaputt’

This album has been on repeat for me every day for about 2 weeks now. Take everything Destroyer has done in the past and add a little bit of lounge, a little bit of jazz, and a little bit of Hall & Oates… but it’s still weird like Dan Bejar is. The album is great and even features a little ‘saxomophone’. Favorite Song: “Savage Night At The Opera” – sounds like something from Tears for Fears.

Bear Hands Playing Talking Head Friday 1/21

This has been a band that has been in and out of my radar all year. Catchy songs with quirky guitar hooks, This should be a pretty good show for only $8. Talking Head.
