The Walkmen Cover “Holiday Road”

After putting out one of the best, most underrated albums of the year (imho) , and possibly their darkest material yet, the Walkmen loosen things up a little bit with a great cover of Buckingham’s ‘Holiday Road’, which I think most people know from National Lampoon’s Vacation.

Amazing, 2 “albums” in two days. This with the leak of the Daft Punk Soundtrack should keep me going over the holidays.

Stream New Cut Copy Track “Take Me Over”

Modular Records is streaming the new Cut Copy single “Take Me Over” from their upcoming third album Zonoscope (out 2/8).  It’s pretty catchy right from the beginning guitar riff all the way through to the bongos and definitely has that paul simon/islandy type feel to it.  Brent made a good observation that the bass line reminds him of song from another Australian band: Men at Work’s “Land Down Under”.  Also it’s shockingly similar to Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere”.  Not that that’s a bad thing.

Stream “Take Me Over” Here.

Definitely a good start to get the appetite going for the whole album.
